Miss Wisconsin 2013 – Emcee David Weincek
David Weincek is a professional actor who resides in New York City. A theater veteran, David has appeared in leading roles in over 100 stage productions in New York and at major regional theaters across the country. Film roles include "It's Complicated", "Baby Mama" and"The Stepford Wives". For the past few years, David appeared regularly on the ABC soap opera "One Life to Live". He has been featured in many national commercials, for such companies as IKEA and FedEx, as well as currently appearing in a Citibank print ad campaign.
A graduate of the prestigious New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, David is a dedicated volunteer with the Make A Wish Foundation.
For the past decade, David has been honored to serve as a judge for the Miss America Organization on the local, state and national levels. This August, for the second consecutive year, David will travel to Orlando, Florida to serve as the preliminary host for the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant.
He served as a national judge for MAOT in 2008.
Garth is the spotlight performer on Friday night.
He will also perform during the Evening Wear portion, Friday and Saturday.
Garth Neustadter is an Emmy Award-Winning composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has composed feature-length scores fro Warner Bros., PBS, Turner Classic Movies, and China's CCTV. His works have been heard in diverse venues ranging from Lincoln Center to Los Angeles' Nokia Theater, and he has collaborated with directors including James Franco ("TAR", starring Mila Kunis, Jessica Chastain, and Zach Braff). One of his works was selected by Grammy-Award-winning violinist, Hilary Hahn for upcoming performances. The Hollywood Reporter has praised his "lyrical scores", while The Baltimore Sun says of his music, "The guy is a natural, as his soaring theme makes plain."
In 2011, Garth became one of the youngest composers to receive a Primetime Emmy Award for his score for the PBS 'American Masters' documentary, "John Muir in the New World." Garth gained early attention when he was selected by Hans Zimmer as the First Prize winner of the Turner Classic Movies Film Composers Competition. His achievements have been profiled in USA Today, The Baltimore Sun, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Film Music Magazine, DownBeat Magazine, and on NPR. He has received multiple awards from ASCAP, including two Morton Gould Awards, Jazz Composers Award, 2011 Young Jazz Composer of the Year, the ASCAP fellowship for Film Scoring Studies at Aspen, and the 2012 ASCAP David Rose Award for Young Film Composers. Garth is a five-time DownBeat Magazine award winner.
Garth received his undergraduate degrees in Violin and Voice performance from Lawrence University and is a graduate of the Yale School of Music where he studied on full scholarship under Christopher Theofanidis, Aaron Kernis, and Martin Bresnick. An active performer, his solo appearances span collaborations with Miss America to performances with the Los Angeles Opera Company.
The trio is the pre-show feature on Saturday night.
"The Garth Neustadter Trio" is from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Garth, an Emmy award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist, and his parents Gary and Kristen, have performed as a family trio, "The Garth Neustadter Trio," for the past 18 years. They have performed extensively throughout Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, and Japan and are known for their musical diversity.
Garth (violin, saxophone, vocal) is a graduate of Lawrence University and the Yale School of Music. Kristen (piano) taught instrumental music in the Manitowoc Public School System. Gary (drums, trombone, vocal) taught instrumental music in the Two Rivers Public School District, Neenah High School, and Stevens Point Area Public Schools.
The Neustadters have produced six different CDs which include: "Classic Encores" (show tunes), "I Believe" (inspirational), "Eyes of Love" (romantic), "O Holy Night" (Christmas instrumental), "Peace on Earth" (Christmas instrumental and vocal), and "John Muir in the New World" soundtrack (Emmy-Winning Documentary Score) and are available by emailing: email@example.com
