The Miss Wisconsin Pageant Founded in 1936, the Miss Wisconsin Pageant program is a preliminary for The Miss America Organization, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. The Miss Wisconsin Organization offers more than $600 thousand in cash and scholarship assistance. Almost all contestants have either received, or are in the process of earning either college or postgraduate degrees, and utilize Miss America scholarship grants to further their educations.

David Weincek – Host – Emcee
Another familiar face . We’ve met with David several times in the past six months, and he has agreed to Host the 2014 pageant. The consummate professional, National Host of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, and other state pageants, he lives in New York and is employed as a professional actor. David will work directly with Tosha and Leah as the aspects of the music, theme, and script come together.
David Weincek is a professional actor who resides in New York City. A theater veteran, David has appeared in leading roles in over 100 stage productions in New York and at major regional theaters across the country. Film roles include It's Complicated, Baby Mama and The Stepford Wives. On television, David has appeared this season on The Michael J Fox Show and The Good Wife. He has been featured in many commercials, most recently for the NY State Lottery and Vonage. A honors graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, David is a dedicated volunteer with the Make A Wish Organization and BOOK Pals. When not working, he loves to travel--this year visiting Australia, Italy, Germany and China. For the Miss America Organization, David has been honored to have served as a judge on the local, state and national levels. For the past two years, David has served as the host of Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin Outstanding Teen, as well as emceeing the national preliminaries for Miss America's Outstanding Teen.
Tosha who now lives in California brings a wealth of experience previously serving as a local representative, moving on to working jointly with Leah directing the Miss Oshkosh local. She has significant experience working on major network shows, and the media. She serves in a new role and jointly, with Leah, selects the show music, writes the scripts, determines the theme, plans the entertainment for the Merchant’s Dinner, and works directly with our host emcee.
Tosha graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film and Theatre. She appeared in many stage plays during her time at the university, including “The Grapes of Wrath”, “School for Scandal”, and her favorite, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged]”. A Screen Actor’s Guild actress, Tosha has also appeared in several regional and national commercials. Upon graduating, she moved to Green Bay and worked as a Writer/Editor and as a Producer for WLUK FOX 11 News’ “Good Day Wisconsin”.
She now resides in Los Angeles, California where she works as a Development Producer for Twofour America, developing new reality television shows. Previously, she worked several years as a Casting Associate for Relativity Television, casting hit shows such as Food Network’s "Guy’s Grocery Games” and The Great Food Truck Race”, among many others. Tosha is also a co-creator and writer for a blog OnceAMonth4Ladies.com (OAM). OAM is a place for women to go and share their personal experiences, ask questions, and learn tips and tricks for living in today’s fast-paced society.
No stranger to the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Pageant, Tosha competed twice for the state title — in 2008 as Miss Oshkosh and again in 2009 as Miss Lakeshore when she was a top ten finalist and “Spirit of Miss America” award winner. Tosha spent four years as co-producer/director of the Miss Oshkosh Scholarship Pageant, working side-by-side with Leah Nikolaus.
Leah Nikolaus – Director
Leah, who now resides in Chicago returns in a new role handling all the choreography, and jointly, with Tosha, handles responsibility for music, writing the show, determines the theme, entertainment for the Merchant’s Dinner and also works with our host emcee.
Leah born and raised in Oshkosh, she received her training in jazz, lyrical, tap, tumbling and baton twirling at local dance studio, Julie’s Touch of Silver. As member of the competition team, she has won several World, National and State titles and had the opportunity to perform at Lambeau Field, Mall of America, Walt Disney World, Epcot and Universal Studios. To continue on with her love of dance, she was a member of Green Bay based performance groups, Broadway Mania and Calvary Players.
Leah got her start with the Miss America Organization as a contestant in the Miss Oshkosh Pageant in 1999; she continued on as Choreographer and Co-Director/Producer of the local pageant for 11 years. No stranger to the Miss Wisconsin Pageant as she was a featured dancer from 2004-2008, she started the state’s Princess Program in 2010. She then joined the production team as Assistant Director and Choreographer in 2012 and is thrilled in becoming Director alongside her good friend, Tosha.
She currently resides in Chicago, flying the friendly skies as an O’Hare based Flight Attendant, covering over 300,000 miles per year.
Frank Tower – Stage Manager
Frank brings a wealth of experience to many aspects of the program, and he will work directly with Leah and Tosha as they select the music, theme, and construct the script.
His hometown is Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Frank has had many careers and interests with varied education from architecture to economics, business and information technology. After moving to Oshkosh in 1994 with his wife Kristen, he became involved with local theater groups developing his on and back stage skills. Frank has also had the honor of serving the City of Oshkosh as a Common Council member from 2001-2005 and Mayor from 2007-2009.
Frank has owned and operated small business technology companies and is currently the Network Enterprise Manager at Hoffmaster Group, Inc. He serves on numerous non-profit boards including the Grand Opera House Foundation and the Oshkosh Area Community Food Pantry. Frank is a private pilot, avid motorcyclist and loves to sail.
Kenton Barber – Sound Production
Kenton is returning to the Production team bringing his considerable talents to the table after his successful inaugural year in 2013. Kenton will fulfill the role of sound engineer. He will work directly with Tosha, Leah, and Frank to ensure that the audience has the best audible experience possible.
Kenton Barber is a lifetime resident of the town of Ripon, Wisconsin. A graduate of Ripon High School, he has years in the video industry. His first job was in 2009 with The Ripon Channel. Following that he started working as an editor at EAA where he edits the annual multi-market AirVenture commercial and also is involved in the video production of the all-week aviation event. Most recently, he is now a production assistant for WLUK-TV for the 5pm and 9pm news broadcasts. Kenton also does freelance work and has had the opportunity to work on video projects that include clients such as NFL Network, CNN, NBC, and Ford Motor Company.
Kenton has been involved with theater work since 2007. His first musical production was "The Wizard of Oz." Kenton was a lighting technician for the musical "Rent," put on by the Fond du Lac Community Theater, and the sound engineer for the "Miss Wisconsin Pageant" for a second year.
Although this is only his second year as the sound engineer, Kenton has been involved with the Miss Wisconsin pageant for 9 years.
