2008 Miss Wisconsin Outstanding Teen
Jennifer Dombrowski, 2008 Miss Wisconsin Outstanding Teen
From the first day that my life crossed paths with the Miss Wisconsin organization, I knew that this was bigger than myself. Sure, I got to wear fancy dresses and a sparkly crown, ride in parades, peform on stage, and sign autographs. But none of that was what drove me to dedicate so much time to this title. It was the feeling that everyone was working toward the same purpose: to improve the quality of life. Together, we could do something monumental like raise $1,400 for a life-saving organization. Or, we could act locally and read books to children at schools throughout the county. Either way, we're making an improvement in our community and inspiring others to do the same. The Miss Wisconsin Organization is synonamous with hope, love, and that "it" factor which can't be explained. I only wish that more young women would take this opportunity to make themselves a part of it and contribute what they can to this 86-year-old volunteer organization. (You won't be sorry you did!) The single most meaningful experience was getting to know all of the Wisconsinites who work their magic behind the scenes and continue to inspire me, like the lovely hosetsses and board members. It was an indescribable time of my life and I thank God for blessing me with the opportunuity to give back to my home state and be surrounded by such radiating kindness.
I'm now living in Milwaukee where I'm double-majoring in International Business and Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, I am one of thousands (including Kristin Chenowith and Cloris Leachman) who strive to uphold the highest standard of womanhood through love, labor, learning, and loyalty.
Being a part of this organization changed my life for the better and shaped me into the woman that I am today. I can never give enough thanks to the many people who helped make this possible.
Thank you!
Love always,
Jennifer
