Volunteerism - Get Involved!

As a part of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization I have developed my own platform - Volunteerism-Get Involved! But my passion for volunteering had begun six years ago in the 4th grade when every Wednesday I would spend my lunch recess in the library putting away books and doing odd jobs. Being a volunteer is very important to me because not only are you helping others but also gaining lifelong skills. You never know how a small thoughtful gesture can impact the lives of others or provide incredible opportunities. Recently I co-hosted and helped organize a talent show called the Evening of Hope Talent Extravaganza as a way for people to get involved, raise money and have a great time! Young and old had the opportunity to participate either on stage or as an audience member. Along with the help of some amazing friends, it turned out to be a great night of entertainment all while benefiting the Children's Miracle Network raising almost $500. I encourage everyone to get out there and help others; whether it’s a friend, neighbor, family member or organization. Take that first step because Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world. It’s the only thing that ever has!"  Getting involved in your community CAN make all the difference because it takes just one person, one action, and one idea to spark interest and inspire change.  Join me and together we can make a difference.
