About Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen Program
Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen Competition is held in conjunction with the Miss Wisconsin Competition and is an official state preliminary to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen is a scholarship based program giving accomplished teens the opportunity to win college scholarship funds. The Miss Wisconsin Outstanding Teen program joins Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in promoting scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens.
The competition is intended to encourage and reward the talent, communication skills, community service, and academic achievement of girls between 13 and 18 years of age.
Five years after Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen program was established, Jeanette Morelan, Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen 2009, was crowned Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2010.
